VW International had the privilege of supporting the Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response from August 2009 through February 2014. This involved supporting medical supply warehouses/distribution points in Frederick, Maryland to assisting with the establishment of new mission support centers in Texas and California.

In addition to providing continuous logistical warehousing management, operations, and services, VW International participated in emergency preparedness and response asset management. This included overseeing Medical Surgical supplies, BioMedical equipment support, Laboratory, IT/Communications, Pharmacy, Logistics, Property, Fleet/Transportation, Acquisition, and Readiness Planning. Our team delivered materiel accountability, building and reconstituting kits and caches, and provided periodic maintenance for medical and non-medical equipment.

Several of our notable efforts as a broader part of this operation comprised rapid deployment operations in support of real world events such as the Joplin, Missouri tornado, earthquake relief missions to Haiti, and response to the devastation by Superstorm Sandy as well as National Security Special Events in the Washington, DC area.

“The dedication and professionalism of the VWI Staff in the face of long hours and response to the very real need by fellow Americans is refreshing and noteworthy.”
